All the chocolate that’s fit to eat, plus some toys
It’s a good thing that the grass at the Camden Community Center’s field was cut pretty short; otherwise a lot of very young children would have been quite disappointed. The children turned out in large numbers to look through the field and find plastic eggs and various kinds of candy.
Nearly everyone had a big basket to collect the goodies, although one little girl decided she’d rather use her hat. The first group out—zero to 2 years old, needed a bit of parental help, and some encouragement. Typically, when they found something they wanted to sit and play with it.

Junior League salutes volunteers

The Junior League of San Jose hosted its 38th annual Volunteer Recognition luncheon saluting more than 80 volunteers that “actually take action in our community on behalf of thousands of local residents.”
Of those 80-plus volunteers, the Junior League used a panel of community leaders to single out 16 people who have used their time to volunteer their talents and energy to their community. They join more than 6,000 people honored since 1972. Read more...
